A while back I was googling the names of the small villages that my ancestors were from in Yorkshire. Some of these include Hackness, Harwood Dale, Silpho, Langdale End along with a few slightly larger villages such as Thornton (Thornton Dale) and Pickering and Malton and Scarborough. In any case, I happened to find a link to a website which had a lot of great photos of the countryside in that area. The site owner is a walker and has done many walks in the area and documents them with photos. While I hope that someday I will be able to visit the area, right now I don’t know if that will happen, so these photos are a wonderful resource.
